The other reviewers for this adapter are correct - these guys have great customer service. I decided to go ahead and order it despite some negative reviews regarding installation because I figured I had a 50/50 chance of things going well. I also figured that if the installation went wrong and Panda customer service was half as good as other reviewers said, I'd be okay.
Well, the initial installation didn't work - Windows kept installing the wrong Bluetooth driver. So rather than waste a lot of time, I contacted Panda. Their customer service is indeed as great as others have written. It took 3 email exchanges with John, one of their techs, and the adapter now is working perfectly. Thanks to Panda for truly great customer service. And thanks to all the reviewers who took the time to write about it.
If they hadn't, I probably would have bought something else, paid a lot more, and run into installation problems anyway. Installed easily on my desktop computer with Windows 10. Plug n' Play.
Unfortunately, the range seems almost non-existent. I had originally installed it on an internal USB drive and connected a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, located about 4 feet from the adapter. While I could get them to connect successfully, the latency was horrendous. Actions were delayed 2-3 seconds or more. I moved it to a rear USB port.
Again, about 4 feet away from the devices to be used. I figured the aluminum case had previously been the issue. While this improved, there was still about a half second input delay. Finally put it on a front USB port, only about 3 feet away, almost completely clear. While this almost solved the issue, there are still latency spikes every 30 or so seconds. I ended up having to use a USB extension cable to place the adapter within a foot or so of my devices, which has resolved the issue. But that is completely unacceptable to me as anything but a temporary solution.
I will be replacing it. The other reviewers for this adapter are correct - these guys have great customer service. It was plug and play.
I can now use my multi-device wireless keyboard, and soon hope to have a multi-device mouse to match. My office has Two Linux computers and a Windows computer that are sometimes used interactively, as well as a Linux based security camera system, and I have an Android phone, so sharing keyboard and mouse is very useful to me.
Be nice if someone would make a Wireless keyboard that acted like a pass through for the mouse so I only had to switch one device, but this is good enough for now. Works perfectly. Provided you grab the latest drivers online and DO NOT use the included mini CD.
The latest driver installer from will make this Bluetooth adapter work reliably. For Windows, choose the link 'Windows Driver for Panda Bluetooth 4.0 adapter' from that page. Panda Wireless claims the adapter works just fine on default Windows drivers, but that's a pile of B.S. Sure, the default drivers will power up the device, but it won't help you when you need to install drivers for other devices you pair with the adapter. My Bluetooth headset didn't work until I used the latest installer from their website. This product solved all kinds of headaches for me. I had a previous Bluetooth USB dongle from Kinivo that used a Broadcom chip and it caused issues when dual-booting between Linux Mint and Windows 10 (I had to unplug and re-plug the dongle every time I shutdown Windows and booted Linux and eventually wore away the contacts on the dongle).

The Panda Bluetooth USB dongle worked perfectly. I never have any connection issues. I can stay connected farther away than the previous dongle.
The bottom line is, it just works. This product does have a blinking green light when it's on. I hate products that glow (which seems to be every product you plug into a PC anymore).
Fortunately, the light does not illuminate all that much, so it's fine to have in a dark room. I recently lost my Bluetooth adapter for my computer, so I needed a new one. I didn't want to pay the $20 to $30 that I often see brick and mortar stores selling these for, so I looked around on Amazon and eventually decided on this one.
Plugged it into my computer, let windows install the drivers, and right away I could once again connect my phone (Samsung Note 4) and my computer, as well as my various bluetooth speakers and my headset. It was truly Plug and Play for my windows 10 computer. I'm very glad I read through all the other reviews and settled on this device. They gave lots of helpful information and helped me to purchase this solid piece of equipment. There were many options for bluetooth 4.0 usb adapters. I narrowed it down to this one because of two reasons: The first reason was the customer support looked very friendly and helpful when I was skimming the negative reviews.
The second reason was that in the negative reviews that I read, it wasn't because of the hardware. It was confusion over the software. When I looked at other 4.0 bluetooth products on amazon, the negative reviews on them that the casing fell apart or the device just died on them. So I'm happy if the worse part of this product was going to be confusion over the software, rather than the product falling apart or dying! I ended up having no issues installing this. It was plug and play for windows 7. The device came with a disc but I had no need.

I purchased this to use my spare PS4 controller on my PC. I was tired of seeing my controller flashing it's light even though it was plugged in directly.
The controller was looking for bluetooth. So I paired the controller with this bluetooth and the flashing stopped. I'm very happy with this product so far! Worked perfectly unlike others.
A while back I bought a Bluetooth mouse (MS comfort mouse) by accident, and it didn't come with an adapter. Guess they assumed most buyers would be tablet/laptop users, a fair assumption. I was out of my return period so I bought an adapter here on Amazon. It was nothing but troubles. I finally got it working by pairing the mouse while in Windows safe mode but it would always drop out even with the adapter only 5' away and plugged into the top ports of my computer and it wouldn't pair again. I downloaded the drivers from the website, and other troubleshooting steps and nothing made it a reliable well working mouse. Months and months and months went by and I was getting tired of my 5 year old mouse with batteries that wear out fast and it's big receiver, compared to newer ones.
So I decided to try a different receiver. Plugged it in, boom windows 7 recognized it. Turned on the mouse in pairing mode and practically in the time it took to put the mouse down and look up at the screen it had been found and was working.
It's been so long maybe windows patched something via a windows update or perhaps this receiver is based on a different chipset. Seems like all Bluetooth receivers work better for some and not for others.
But this one worked perfectly for me and I don't really notice the difference in operation from a traditional wireless mouse. I'll update this review after I have tried it with Linux. I have a Dell Studio 540 desktop with Windows 7, and the experience was not smooth. I thought that I would need no drivers, but it came up that I had to use the included CD.
The drivers installed well the first time, but then my system crashed when changing the volume of the device, and then the device stopped working after rebooting. It took a lot of tinkering to get the drivers working again (I'm not even sure what worked at the end). Their support site is pitiful, including only drivers for other devices. I did not use their support email, though.
In the end, the device worked, but unfortunately the sound on my bluetooth headset starts to get distorted after a couple minutes of talking over my softphone. Pretty disappointing.
To be fair, this is not my first attempt trying to using Bluetooth devices with Windows, and the results have been disappointing. I think that in this case I got farther that my previous attempts.
It is not clear if the problem is Windows, the software, the device, my headset, or the drivers. I would not recommend this product, because the support is rather poor. I would suggest purchasing from a well established maker, who can provide drivers, forums, and better documentation. Installing the driver setup from the CD / web download also quietly installs 'CSR Harmony Wireless Software Stack' from Cambridge Silicon Radio which registers DLLs and creates system services, running processes, and registry run keys that ARE NOT removed when you use the uninstaller. This software is nearly impossible to remove (you must use the command line in administrative mode to manually disable and remove the services and unregister dlls so that you can finally delete the program files c: progra1 csr; as well as remove registry keys under HKLM and HKCU Software CSR).

While it may in reality be harmless, it still behaves like malware in my opinion, and at the very least seems highly big-brotherly as it just sits there in the background and 'provides a seamless experience'. I'll manage my own experience, thanks.

That'll teach me to ever use a driver installer rather than manually using Device Manager to browse the INF. I attempted to extract the driver files from the setup.exe provided on the CD and the web download using 7zip and UniExtract, with no luck. On Win7 x32 the drivers install automatically using generic Microsoft drivers and the device shows up as a Generic Bluetooth Radio. This was not my experience on X64. My advice to buyers: if Windows/OS doesn't install the device automatically, RETURN IT.
