Bad design for quality speakers 5.1 Twice returned due to Logitech Z906 5.1 Computer speakers system received on the first attempt to connect all the speakers connecting clipping buttons. One of those connecting spring clips would bleak due to poor cheap plastic design of material. Also the pseakers would be humming due to some incompatiblity issue to my PC sound card too.
Best Buy Customer service man on my second return RMA was not willing to compensate for a 10% future purchase discount purchase coupon which showed non-respectful to regular customer for any inconvenience and stressful time consuming. So I bought from a friendly competitor a Logitech Z623 2.1 computer speakers system which turn out to be the best 2.1 THX speakers with powerful solid bass and mid-range tweeter sound without any hissing sound when turn on or off at 1/4 or higher volume level. NB: Always use the original Logitech 3.5 m connecting audio e (green color) cable as set up without using any clipping spring clip.to avoid the above Z906 model physical problem. Expensive, but delivers I had originally purchased the Z506 set on sale over the holidays but mine kept spitting out crackling noise from 1-2 speakers and I went through 3 sets before biting the bullet and going for this one. I think the shielding on the lower end set (Z506) is just to low for some applications. I had zero issues with this pricier set which was also on sale.
Each of these speaker weighs more than twice that of a single Z506 speaker which says a lot about the construction material. Very happy so far.
I bought these a month ago to use in a small bedroom. The subwoofer and speakers work great on movies streamed online in 4.1 mode. Couldn't use the 3D (5.1) surround sound mode because I only had my laptop aux output. USB sound card will be purchased soon. Would have never purchased them if they weren't on sale on black friday 2015.
If i paid full price, i wouldnt keep it. I didn't want to buy a receiver and everything else that comes with it. Saves a lot of space and satellites are small. For computer speakers, they're good.
For a home theater system, you could do a lot better. These are definitely good speakers for watching movies with lots of room shaking bass (varies on placement). I don't really like using these for music because I like bass, but the bass always seems to overpower the music and seems distorted at certain volumes. Usually the entire system loses power about half power with subwoofer turned up. Burning smell comes up using satellites at full power. Can no longer return these, will rely on the 2 year warranty if anything fails. I recommend these for use in a medium size room (NOT SMALL & NOT LARGE).
You cant really get good use of the surround sound in a small room. Getting some speaker stands to see if elevation makes a bit of a difference. Also note that each satellite is one way, and it's effect on music is obvious.
Definitely not for someone who loves music. Do not buy this for a tv. Please test them out before deciding to buy or keep. Great buy Got this almost two months now and I can say this product is worth it. The deal was sweeter coz I got this on sale. I was initially looking for a sound bar because of space issues. But upon hearing what sound quality sound bar has to offer I decided I had no choice but to get a dedicated AV receiver and speakers.
But then came these babies. Priced lower than the home theatre setup and getting the small space issues that i need. Sound quality is clear and crisp. Very good in hearing dialogues in movies even in low volume. And this can be loud if you want to. The subwoofer is more than enough for me.
Lots of power. The thing that I like too is that you can setup the volumes of the different set of speakers which are the center, front and back (not individually) speakkers plus the subwoofer. The remote is good, no problems.
It comes with speaker wires and an optical audio cable too. Pricey, but well worth the money I was a bit hesitant when I saw these at first, but after purchasing and setting up to my pc via the optical output, all I can say is wow! The sound is very good and if you have a Dolby Digital or DTS bluray, the sound is even better. I also hooked up my second Fibe tv box to the speakers as it's in the same room as the pc and the movies are fantastic now. Just like a home theater. I have to admit, I have a very high end Onkyo receiver and speakers in my living room and there's no comparison between these and that system, but for the money paid for these, they are well worth it (Onkyo cost much much more).

Though it isn't audiophile level sound quality, it is THX certified and you can tell. Loud bass allows you to literally feel the bumps in movies and music, yet is easily adjustable to every individuals liking. The 3D stereo sound effect is AMAZINGLY done, and can turn 2.1 music into a rich surrounding 5.1 experience that isolates instruments in music and plays them around you, while keeping the vocals up front. A very diverse selection of inputs, options and volumes, all of which are extremely easily accessible from the control unit and included remote really solidify the feel of the purchase and the quality of the system. The only downside i have experienced was how light weight the control unit is (you need to hold it while pushing a button).
Awesome Got these from an open box with a discount at bestbuy, awesome speakers. Volume is insane, and it even has a couple inputs for optical which is good in case I attach them to my TV. I listen to a lot of crazy music on my computer and this helps dynamitize the sound dramatically.
Great quality sound, the ONLY downside for me is that you can't just adjust the front satellite speakers. You can adjust the sub, rear satellites, and the center speaker, but to adjust the front satellites you have to increase the volume of the entire setup. Regardless, this makes little difference and the sound is ballin. Really captures my bass tones!
